Franconia Notch State Park - located in the heart of the
White Mountain National Forest. Franconia Notch is a spectacular mountain pass
traversed by a unique parkway which extends from the Flume Gorge at the south to Echo
Lake at the north. For eight miles, I-93 winds between the high peaksof the Kinsman
and Franconia mountain ranges.. While you are here, stop at the Flume Gorge Visitor Center
and walk through the renowned Flume Gorge, ride the exciting aerial tramway at Cannon Mountain,
and visit the New England Ski Museum. Take your time, stop for a swim at Echo Lake, net a trout
while fly fishing at Profile Lake, ride your bike on the Recreational Trail, watch for rock
climbers, hawks, and falcons on Cannon Cliffs, or hike on the Appalachian Trail. Bring the family,
stay awhile, and enjoy Franconia Notch State Park

Things To Do - Visit the spectacular Flume Gorge
and hike out to the Sentinel Pine Bridge, a covered foot
bridge built out of a single pine tree. Hike along the nine mile Franconia Ridge and
the Appalachian Trail to 5,260 feet high Mount Lafayette - a challenging climb in the
White Mountains through a montane environment - views can exceed 85 miles under good condtions.
Take the Cannon Mountain Tram to the top of Cannon Mountain to explore and hike.
In the winter take the tram to ski on Cannon Mountain.
Canoe, kayak and fish in pristine Echo Lake.Visit in the fall to see the world famous foliage,
probably the best in all of New England.
Cross country ski and snowshoe during the winter. Franconia Ridge is extremely popular for telemark skiing.
Go rock climbing at Cannon Mountain or on Eagle Cliffs on Mount Lafayette. Take a short hike out to the Basin
to see where water and errosion has carved out a near perfect bowl from solid rock
